Selected for the Threads Programme during Creative Brain Week at Trinity College Dublin, Re-Framing is a collaborative installation developed with participants from Brain Injury Matters NI and ABI Ireland.
The work visualises the cyclical journey of change and transformation following acquired brain injury. Over several months, participants co-created 9,000 origami “brains”, arranged in a geometric pattern on the floor of the former Science Gallery. Bright, vibrant colours celebrate positive experiences and growth, while black and white were intentionally excluded, reflecting the process of reframing life after trauma.
This installation is the first all-Island creative response to brain injury, building on earlier versions in Belfast and Philadelphia.
